Twanisha Terry has explained how Sha’Carri Richardson’s top-end-speed makes her a lethal weapon for Team USA in relays after she anchored them to Olympics gold in 4x100m.
Sha’Carri Richardson was the toast for Team USA at the Paris Olympics when she completed a remarkable comeback to beat Team Britain and Germany and claim gold in the 4x100m relay.
Terry, a training mate of Sha’Carri Richardson, says working close with the world 100m champion has allowed her to learn a number of tactics and also understand her strengths which she is thankful that they can employ to good effect.
During the 4x100m relay final, Melissa Jefferson started the race for Team USA before passing the baton to Twanisha Terry who would hand it to Gabby Thomas and the Olympics 200m champion gave it to Sha’Carri Richardson to complete the race.
However, by the time Gabby Thomas was handing it over to Sha’Carri Richardson, Team Britain and Germany had already surged ahead but the Dallas native summoned a great finishing kick to outsprint them both and claim victory, giving them a defiant stare in the process.
